In 2019, ARIA Award-winner Dan Sultan led a cast of more than 200 singers and musicians in an extraordinary concert event inspired by the music and ideals of social justice in QPAC’s Concert Hall.
He was joined by legendary Women in Voice artist Leah Cotterell whose work spans political cabaret to jazz, along with The Voice Australia grand finalist Ellen Reed, singer-songwriter duo Mundy-Turner and Songwoman Maroochy of the Turrbal People.
Songs of Justice also featured the combined voices of the QPAC Choir, Children’s Health Queensland Community Choir, Lotus Place Voices, With One Voice Brisbane, Songlines Choir, Freedom Train and the Absolutely Everybody Choir. Brisbane favourite Kay McGrath will MC the concert with The Honourable Dame Quentin Bryce as the concert’s guest speaker.
The concert supported Micah Projects and Lotus Place, which provide services and opportunities in the community to create justice and respond to injustice.
